mobi.gifThanks to a new plug-in, The Productologist is now available for easy access and reading on mobile devices with web browsers, like the Nokia N70, pictured here. It’s even better on smartphones, primarily because of their generally larger screen size, not because of any smartphone functionality.

Now you can access The Productologist anywhere you have mobile access. Please note, this could have adverse affects on your cellular bill if you do not have an unlimited data plan.

If you were accessing The Productologist on a mobile device before the upgrade, I would be interested in hearing your feedback about the differences. Send me an email at ivan @ theproductologist || <dot> || com.

I just got back from a trip to New York for a trade show. For those of you who have had the pleasure of staying in Manhattan on a restricted budget ($400+ for a room that in most places would qualify as a moderately-sized closet), my hotel was actually not too bad (it was still minuscule, but tastefully appointed and comfortable). As with most hotels, mine was stocked with a couple of local interest magazines that tell patrons what’s going on that month or what restaurants/shows/museums/stores to see while they are in town. While perusing one of them, I stumbled upon an advertisement at the back of the magazine for a gym. Most ads for gyms focus on the form and physique of some beef cake (male or female), but this one highlighted the equipment (although the ad does contain a rather lithe female figure).

Over the next several weeks, you may notice some changes at The Productologist. I have already made some minor modifications to the site layout and will be adding some new features (content- and site-wise) before the end of the year.

Feel free to make comments on whether you like the changes (when they appear) or if you have suggestions on topics/issues you would like to see me address (I have a folder full of ideas, but I am happy to entertain requests). You can send comments/requests to the email address below.

Regards,

I wouldn’t label myself an environmentalist, but I try to do my part. I recycle paper, aluminum and glass in my home. I make homemade notepads out of old printouts. I drive a Honda Civic on my workday commute. I use reusable containers instead of disposable ones. When I have to print documents at work, I print two-to-a-page and double-sided. I also fancy myself a new life re-user.

[Business2.0 homage #1]

Back in July 2007, there was a article in Business 2.0 about making mashups easy for non-technical users. As more and more users embrace web technologies, companies have looked for ways to provide a way for the unfettered masses to take advantage of the latest and greatest that the Internet has to offer. Internet publishing is a prime example of how a previously complex process (coding HTML, creating images, creating dynamic pages, FTP’ing files, etc) turned into blogging, which is now accessible to anyone with an Internet connection who can type and remember their login and password.
