Book Reviews
Posted by: Ivan Chalif in Book Review, FAQ, Professional Development, Publications, RecommendedI mentioned late last year that I was planning to add some new features to The Productologist. Book Reviews is one of those new features.
My motivation is somewhat self-serving (isn’t it always that way?) in that I wanted to spend more time reading about topics that appeal to me professionally and this is the carrot/stick that I am using to accomplish that goal.
I do a good bit of reading already, online and off line, but most of it falls into two categories:
- Escapist fiction (primarily science fiction, but I’m also prone to political or societal farce, too)
- Work-related, problem-oriented non-fiction
As a first step, I am adding a third category: Professionally interesting non-fiction, with the intent that I can dedicate some of my limited “free” time to texts that fit with my career and professional aspirations.
To that end, periodically I will be reading and reviewing texts (primarily books, but possibly online resources, too) and posting a summary and commentary. The texts reviewed are not necessarily specifically about Product Management, but there will always be some element of them that focuses on product management tasks or the role of product management in an organization.
You can find the texts and products that I have reviewed or discussed in The Productologist Store. There’s a link to it in the left-hand column.
I already have a list to work off, but if you have any suggestions or recommendations, feel free to send them my way. You can email them here: ivan @ theproductologist || <dot> || com.
